Janmashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha known as Astami in the month of Bhadrapada as per the Hindu calendar. This year Janmashtami is celebrated on 26th August, 2024.
This day has great significance as Krishna is a beloved God and is believed to have been born 5000 years ago in Mathura to Devaki and Vasudeva. The birth of Krishna also has a great reason behind eradicating evil from earth and establishing Dharma.
